응집물리학 실험을 기반으로 단결정 전이금속 산화물을 합성, 그 물질들의 새로운 물리적 특성들을 탐구하고 알려지지 않은 첨단물성의 미시적 기원을 밝히며 다기능 혁신 소자구현에 필요한 토대를 마련하는 연구를 하고 있다. 주요 연구 분야는 다음과 같다.
